An online youth basketball tournament registration and information system for non-profit organizations.

Tournament Registration

Teams register for the tournament by providing the following information:

• Team Name
• Jersey Color
• Requested Division
• Head Coach
• Assistant Coach
• Team Contact Name, phone number and email address
• Password (to allow team/roster updates in the future)

Players are added to the team's roster by providing the following information:

• Player Name
• Jersey Number
• Height
• Birth Month and Year
• High School Team Status (e.g., JV, Varsity)
• T-shirt Size
• Guest Player Status (i.e., player does not normally play on the team)

Player parents/guardians are required to electronically sign the player liability release form using the WePlayHoops system.

Online registration fee payments are not accepted via the WePlayHoops system. Instead, the system displays tournament-specific instructions on the payment options. For example, postal mail a check, send electronic payment to a Venmo or Zelle account, or link to an external online payment system that is controlled by the tournament sponsor.

Tournament System Administrators

An online admin interface allows tournament organizers to monitor the team registration and roster submissions. In addition, the "power" admin user has additional capabilities such as:

• Assigning teams to divisions. The assigned division can be different from the requested division during the registration process.
• Marking a division as "full" so new teams cannot register for the "full" division.
• Disabling the acceptance of new team registrations.
• Disabling the team's ability to make roster changes.
• Adding/deleting teams and making roster changes even after the deadline has passed.
• Uploading division bracket/schedule PDF files for the public website.
• Generating scoresheets in PDF format. One scoresheet per team includes player names and jersey numbers.
• Exporting team and roster information to Excel files for general purpose usage.

Tournament Information Public Website

A website separate from the registration website is used by the general public to get information about the tournament including:

• Game Results (scorekeepers post game results after each game using an online interface)
• Division, Team and Player Information
• Division Brackets and Game Schedules

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no charge for using the WePlayHoops system. The system is intended for non-profit sponsored youth tournaments only.

However, a monetary donation of any amount to the Sacramento Asian Sports Foundation's Sports for Life program, a program dedicated to individuals with special needs, is encouraged.
